E-Catalogs

Since creating its first electronic catalog in 2005, SKF continues to build and expand its electronic capabilities.  Today, SKF offers two E-Catalog CDs – Automotive E-Cat Desktop applications (457007) and Heavy Duty E-Cat Desktop applications (457002).

Both E-Cat CDs easily load onto a computer only once, and does not require an internet connection to function, but does need one to update to get the most current information that we provide on a monthly basis.  The E-Cat CDs provide easy navigation with part look-ups that include application information, specifications, interchange listings, images, technical information and downloadable PDFs of publications.

SKF has followed industry standards set forth by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) so that the data is user friendly, accurate and faster to market than traditional means.

All of our printed and electronic catalogs follow the standards noted below:

Aces Logo

ACES
ACES is the Industry Standard for the management and exchange of automotive catalog and vehicle data. With ACES, SKF can publish automotive data with standard coded designations for vehicle attributes, parts classifications and qualifier statements. ACES provides a machine-readable format (XML) for trading partners to use in exchanging vast amounts of information. The ACES Vehicle Configuration Database (VCDB) is updated monthly and available only on a subscription basis from AAIA. The Qualifier Database and parts Classification Database are updated as needed. Visit www.aftermarket.org/Technology/ACES.aspx for additional details about ACES.

Pies Logo

PIES
The Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES) is the best practice for the management and exchange of a tremendous variety of product attribute information in the vehicle aftermarket industry. Following an industry standard is the first step towards global data synchronization with trading partners. Data synchronization yields increased sales, shorter new product introduction cycles and lower operating costs through reduced order processing, invoicing and shipping errors. Visit www.aftermarket.org/Technology/PIES.aspx for additional details about PIES.
